Porlezza is a charming and friendly town with good tourist facilities, which is located at the head of the north-eastern branch of Lake Lugano.
The town is made up of four hamlets, Begna, Tavordo, Agria and Cima, of considerable historical interest since it is a typical medieval village with the remains of ancient walls and fortifications. Porlezza offers its visitors a beautiful avenue of recent construction on the lake, where walking and sightseeing, the beach and the pier of the navigation from which to cruise the lake, but also treasures of art, like the baroque church of San Vittore and the rich church of Santa Marta. Porlezza is the starting point for countless excursions: behind the village is the Lago di Piano, a small lake located in a large nature reserve. The lake is very popular in summer but also during the winter: in fact here you can practice the ice-skating because the pond usually freezes in the colder months.
